Interesting Sightseeing Places to Visit In Hanoi

It’s no surprise that Hanoi - Vietnam is still one of the most attractive tripping destinations to many Eastern travelers. This city has one of the biggest rivers in South East Asia, the Hong river. Furthermore, you’d be amazed to know that Hanoi is one of the oldest capital cities on Earth.

Below are some places I suggest you to visit once you land on Hanoi.

Wanna have a meal? It’s time to visit some restaurants and hotels here

If you come to Hanoi and want to visit some traditional Vietnam restaurants there, you can tell any taxi driver to drive you there. Or if you wish to explore the streets yourself, you can learn some Vietnamese such as how to pronounce “quan an ngon Ha noi” or “nha hang noi tieng Ha noi” and many people will show you the way. And I bet you will be surprised with the foods you could put your hands on in those hotels and restaurants. They’re really delicious.

Have you ever heard about fried scorpions or satay frog legs? If not, then you’d be amazed that those restaurants could easily offer you those dishes. And if you’re a fan of “Pho” you will have plenty of places serving that delicious noodles. When you visit these hotels and restaurants, you will be amazed at the strong Vietnam home decor accents they have. So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to have some good dishes.

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

This place is the place where ‘Uncle Ho’ - the great father of Vietnam - lying. His body has been placed and protected by guards here for a long time. And to people in Vietnam, it’s a great honor to have the permission to come and see him. If you want to take a visit to meet Uncle Ho, you better act like other Vietnamese. Be polite and show the respect.

The Old Quarter

If you’re new to Hanoi, then I highly suggest you to take a trip around the Old Quarter. With 36 old streets running across each other, you will find it really feels like you’re traveling through a maze. And each one of them specialized in one traditional craft long time ago. But you can still find many interesting things there if you want to buy some gifts.

Whatever you do on your Vietnam trip, Hanoi will definitely be one of the most memorable places that you visit.

Gift ideas to your loved ones

Vietnam is very well known because of many beautiful and memorable sightseeing places. And there is another notable thing that attract many visitors. It’s the traditional handicraft products. And the best part is, they’re really great to give away as gifts after your trip to Vietnam.

Another product that I think you will love is the Vietnam bamboo bowls. These bowls are made of bamboo patterns and silk to create almost all shapes of forms. The bowls with silk decoration can be a little bit more expensive. The way you use the bowl is to decorate your kitchen or living room, or you can simply use it to store fruits.

The first place you should visit when you come to Vietnam is the Bat trang ceramic village. It’s an old handicraft village in Hanoi. You will find many interesting and well-designed ceramic products there. One of my favorite products in this village is the ceramic vases. One thing in common with these products is they all have very detailed decorations.

A great traditional handicraft product is the Vietnam embroidered handbags. And perhaps the origin of these products is from the silk painting handicraft. Silk is not a hard material to work with. That answers the question why there are many silk craftsmen all around Vietnam. The normal colors of those handbags are black and white. And they all have beautiful images on them.

Decorative masks are the final things I want to show you. They are made of wood and often get funny emotion decorations on them. The craftsmen will carve the wood by hand to make them easier to craft out the products. And lastly, the craftsmen will use colors to decorate them.

The above things are not all handicraft products of Vietnam. But I’m sure if you’re interested in them, you will find out more on your trip to Vietnam.
